Train to Madness

We left the hotel to go to the beach, thinking we had lots of time to spare. Well, we did but we spent longer on the beach than we realized and failed to factor in a 20 minute wait for our tram and a 10 minute wait for the connecting metro. This meant we made our Barcelona train with less than 5 minutes to spare. An uncomfortable margin in anyone's books.

The train journey itself was uneventful, little did we know what it had in store though. We arrived in Barcelona in the middle of La Rambla during the lead up to the EUFA Cup Final, between Barcelona FC and Manchester United. There we people everywhere.

We wandered into the local Indian restaurant for dinner and started to watch the game. The place filled quickly, so we thought we should give up our table for new diners and find a bar. Big mistake, we couldn't get into anywhere!

There is an underlying smell all over the city, a bit like a men's urinal. We wonder what that smell means.

Thought for the day. Don't put off for an hour what you should be doing right now (like heading for the train).
