The Living Daylights

The day started with us still in Cadiz and with manna from heaven or pigeon poo on Gary's head anyway, followed by some very colourful language.

Jo managed to find a way under the baggage allowance, so more clothes were bought in the morning. We picked up a car (sorry Steve it was a Hyundai i20). We picked it up from Cadiz downtown but they had no GPS. We did managed to find our way to the nearest airport ( 50km away ) to pick one up. As the GPS was still crap, we actually did better before picking it up. We then headed quickly to La Linea, just outside the border to Gibraltar.

It was a short walk to the border, in the afternoon. In short, the rock was huge and the lower areas covered in buildings, being a small English town. The monkeys were cute and didn't really care if we were there or not.

We hate to say it but it was nice to speak English again and the traditional pub food we had was a godsend, especially the pints of cider and guinness.

The hotel in La Linea was superb, they are getting better with each night. This hotel had a free mini bar, empty by the time we left though. Soft drinks only btw.

Though for day. Having a pigeon drop something on head does not necessarily mean good luck.
